Diet To Go
Every time I go on a diet something happens and I end up cheating. I eat fairly healthy, but when I am running late at work, I end up getting home at 9 and cheat.
Sometimes, I’ll get pizza (like tonight), or sometimes, I’ll have pasta.
Dieting is hard. That is why we are a huge fan of healthy meal delivery services. They help reduce your chance to cheat.
Diet to Go has quickly become one of our most recommended programs. They have chef-prepared healthy meals that help reduce my risk of cheating. I may still cheat, but I can stay on track longer when I have food already prepared.
How Does Diet to Go Work?
There are a lot of reasons diets fall. Sometimes, people starve themselves and end up binge eating because they didn’t eat nearly enough calories during the day. Others don’t see the results that they want, so they fall back into old habits.
But for a lot of people, it’s just easier to eat whatever is right in front of them.
There’s a convenience of going to Chick-fil-a on the way home from work rather than cooking. A lot of people are overworked, and the last thing that they want to do is go home and cook.
Maybe it’s an excuse. Maybe it’s not.
In either case, people end up cheating on their diets and never reaching their weight loss goals.
Diet to Go was built on the premises of people not having enough time to cook.
Some people don’t even know how to cook healthy and will sabotage themselves without even knowing it.
Diet to Go puts an end to that.
It’s really simple actually.
When you get started with their custom delivery plans, you eliminate all of the following:
- Prepping your food
- Cooking your food
- Worrying about calories
- Worrying about diet specifics
You start with the menu personalization options. This is where you’re able to pick food that you actually want to eat.
If you’re going to be on a diet, you need to have some foods that you actually like. When you first start, you’ll find that the first meals arrive 1 to 3 days after they’ve been shipped. They arrive at your front door or at a limited pickup location, so there’s zero excuse to go and get fast food.
Enter your zip code, and if the delivery is available in your area (it was in mine and I live in the mountains), you’ll then be prompted to choose from one of the main diet plans:
- Balance
- Balance-D
- Keto-Carb30
- Vegetarian
I am going to go over all of these diet plans shortly, but before I do, I want to mention that there are a lot of great options.
When you choose the Balance plan, you’ll then be prompted to choose whether or not you want seafood. I am not a person who loves seafood, and since I am very picky, I chose to leave it out of my order.
Diet to Go isn’t the same, every-size-fits-all approach that almost sabotages your diet. You’re going to have options that allow you to follow the diet plan that works best for you.
Diet to Go Meal Plans
Diet to Go has a lot of great plans available, and while I touched base on one, let’s really look at what this plan has to offer you.
Balance Plan
The Balance Plan is the most popular plan option. You’ll be following a calorie-controlled weight loss plan that was developed by:
- Nutritionists
- Chefs
The plan does not include red meat or pork.
When you subscribe, you’ll have two main options:
- Men
- Women
Women will follow a standard 1,200 calorie per day plan, while men follow a 1,600-calorie plan. The plan allows you to lose more than half-a-pound a week if you eat a standard 2,000 calorie diet as a man.
You do have the option to remove seafood from the plan, too.
A sample meal plan, broken down by week, may include:
- Blueberry pancakes with turkey sausage
- Coconut parfait
- Omelets
- Sofrito chicken melt
- Orlean’s tuna salad
- Mediterranean pizza
- Penna pasta
- Turkey chili
- Baked salmon with a pineapple salsa
But you can customize everything to be perfect for you.
Balance-D Plan
Balance-D is for diabetics. The entire plan is diabetic-friendly, and it has been doctor-approved. You’ll be able to enjoy a meal plan that has less than 45 grams of carbs per meal to keep your blood sugar levels under control.
Ideal for a person with Type 2 diabetes, the plan can be chosen with two options:
- 5-day
- 7-day
Chefs take care of the logistics, creating meals that work well for anyone with diabetes. You don’t have to worry about carb intake or eating too much sugar. When you follow the right diet plan, you’re able to better manage diabetes.
A sample plan may include:
- Cinnamon walnut cereal
- Egg and cheese sandwich
- Aztec Quinoa salad
- Turkey sandwiches
- Blackened salmon
- Italian chicken
Keto-Carb30
Keto is huge, and it’s a diet plan that has been a savior for a lot of people. You’ll be focusing on a high fat diet to help thrust your body into ketosis. When your body is in ketosis, you’ll be changing the way that your body gets its energy.
The body is starved of carbs, so it will turn to your body’s fat stores and burn them for fuel.
But Keto requires that you have the right ratio of protein, carbs and fat to be able to force this biological change on your body.
Diet to Go has designed their Keto-Carb30 to be able to jumpstart your weight loss progress with as little effort as possible. The diet is a solid one, and the chefs are able to make all of your favorite foods fit into your diet.
When you choose this plan, you’re choosing a plan that offers just 30 net carbs per day so that your body remains in ketosis.
You don’t have to sit down and do all of your own food calculations.
It’s the perfect keto choice.
Original and “no seafood” options are available.
A sample menu may include:
- Scrambled eggs
- Cheese omelet
- Pork chop breakfast
- Chicken fontina
- Chicken parmesan
- Lemon herb tilapia
You have different meals each day of the week.
Vegetarian Meal Plans
The Vegetarian option is the final plan on the list, and it offers a 5-day and 7-day option. When you choose the vegetarian plan, you’re choosing a plan that excludes meat but includes:
- Eggs
- Dairy
You’ll find that this plan is very similar to the Balance plans. You’ll have full control over your menu, so you’ll be able to watch your calories intake with precision.
A sample plan may include:
- Blueberry pancakes with soy sausage
- Chocolate zucchini bread
- Spanish stuffed peppers
- Mushroom ravioli
- Veggies pizza
- Asian soy over sesame rice
A well-balanced diet is going to make sure that you burn more calories than you consume.
If you can burn more calories, you’ll lose weight. It’s simple math, but it works very well.
When you add exercise into the mix, you’ll see results even faster than before. But you can lose weight without having to exercise by simply following your calorie intake seriously.
Menus are rotating, so you will have a different menu for each of the five weeks. When you have variety in your diet, you’re far less likely to break from your routine.

What Others Are Saying About Diet to Go
A lot of great reviews have led to the popularity of Diet to Go. When I first heard about the company, one of the things that really stood out to me was that everyone was raving about how good the company’s food was.
The chefs do an amazing job making food actually taste good.
But it goes much deeper than that.
Others have left reviews that claim:
- They lost 15 pounds in two months and that food is delivered to their door fresh twice per week
- They enjoy unique, delicious foods that work perfectly for losing weight
- Fast service with a rotating menu to keep meals interesting
You can go on the company’s social media channels to see how well they handle their customer service. Diet to Go responds to consumers, keeps a pulse on their social channels, and are there for consumers that are interested in their service.
Now, one of the biggest complaints I see is that the chef will choose the menu for you if you do not choose your own meals. If you let someone else choose all of your meals, you’re going to be at the mercy of the chef, which means you may have a chicken-heavy plan, or a lot of another food you may or may not like.
You must go and select the meals that you want to eat – chefs cannot read your mind.
Consumers do complain about the price and state that they can make the meals at home for cheaper.
And you can, but I know I never did.
The meals are created by a chef, and everything is portioned out for you. You’re paying just a portion of the costs for the food. Additional costs are going to the chef and nutritionist who have to create and make all of the meals.
It’s like going out to eat for every meal minus spending a fortune in the process.
What I didn’t know when first hearing about the company is that they started in 1999. They’ve been around for 20 years, and they prepare over 40,000 meals per week. You can find a lot of great reviews about the company, and in 2011, they were voted as the tastiest diet plan available.
They beat out big names, such as Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig, in the taste department.
When it comes to diet plans, the company has adapted to the needs of consumers. The Keto plan, for example, shows that the company pays attention to their consumers and what is popular on the market today.
Diet to Go is a solid choice for a delivered meal plan.
The company offers unique plans, a customizable menu and food that actually tastes good. More importantly, people lose weight on Diet to Go.
If you’re struggling to lose weight, don’t have time to cook or keep cheating on your diet, Diet to Go is a tasty, proven way to lose weight.
